| With 3.9-inch AMOLED, MeeGo-based Nokia N9 now announced Posted: 27 Jun 2011 04:14 AM PDT Good news for MeeGo lovers! MeeGo based N9 Smartphone by Nokia is shortly arriving in the evergreen market of phones and its associated devices and accessories. The announcement was made at Singapore during Nokia Communication 2011. During recent past, this same phone was leaked. The operating system for N9 Smartphone is developed by Intel and Nokia jointly. This operating system is based on Linux and MeeGo. It has brand new interface designed specifically to handle lot of slide or swipe based actions. The main screen has 3 panels which users can swipe. The three panels are dedicated to show different things. The first panel named Applications, shows all the installed apps in your mobile. The second panel shows calendar and events along with notifications from social networking websites. And the third and last panel shows all active or open apps which are currently on use. N9 has a new web browser with Webkit 2 technology which supports HTML5. This Smartphone is built from polycarbonate unibody design. This is the first Smartphone which does not have any key on its front side; all the operations are done by using touch screen swipe actions. The display is comfortably 3.9 inches wide which makes the swiping operations easy. On the back side, it has 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lenses, with auto focus ability. This phone can also record videos with surround sounds. Technically specifications include a 1GHz TI OMAP3630 SoC with 1GHz Cortex A8 CPU and PowerVR SGX530 GPU. RAM is also quire generous i.e. 1GB. This can be connected to Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth v2.1, 3G HSDPA, GPS, digital compass and accelerometer. |
