| Samsung pays Qualcomm a fortune to use its patented services Posted: 08 Nov 2009 08:10 AM PST Samsung like always a brand that is known for its authenticity and legitimacy has now made news by signing an agreement with Qualcomm, according to which, Sammy has to pay a huge amount of 1.3 billion US dollars, for the patents this company owns. Just after the dispute which happened between Nokia and Apple a week back, Samsung too afraid to get name on all such matters has paid almost a fortune to Qualcomm, the CDMA patent holder to use its services like CDMA, OFDMA and CDMA on all its devices. The Qualcomm earning almost a half of its yearly income of 2009 in just one single go from Samsung although has said that this is the lowest deal for this Korean company. Any ways all still unveiled, the actual amount has still not been revealed but the company sure has to pay some royalties for another 15 years… we guess. |
